Framing

Framing is one aspect of artwork that is sometimes complicated and often expensive depending on how you approach it.  I always suggest that you put your artwork behind glass in order to help preserve your drawing.  It's also important to keep it out of direct light because over time, the sun can fade the graphite and the contrast can be deminished.

Whether you choose a single mat or multiple, having a mat can add interest but also keeps the art from touching the glass directly.  This also helps preserve your artwork.  There are many options for texture, color and size and if you go to your local frame shop, go prepared to discuss your specific requirements so that your artwork compliments your decor.

Your artwork is an investment and by taking the time to preserve it properly, you will be able to enjoy it for many years to come.
